Oriental Lamb by cooking meals for one

Tasty Asian Stir Fry


  • 200g lamb fillet, thinly sliced


1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger

1 egg

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 teaspoon brown sugar

1½ teaspoons cornflour

pinch bicarb soda

1 clove garlic, crushed

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 brown onion, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Sambal Oelek
  • 1 teaspoon Hoi Sin sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Kecap Manis
  • pinch Chinese five spice
  • 1 teaspoon red wine vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil


  • Place sliced lamb and the marinade ingredients into a ziplock bag or bowl, mix well to coat all the meat and refrigerate for at least 2 hours 
  • Heat the oil in a frypan over medium-high heat, add onions and pan fry for 2 minutes
  • Add the marinated lamb and marinade to the onions, then add Samba Oelek, Hoi Sin sauce, Kecap Manis, red wine vinegar and sesame oil. Stir-fry for 4-6 minutes or until lamb is cooked
  • Serve with steamed greens and rice
