Ingredients
- 1 (150-200g) tuna steak
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
Salad:
- ½ cup chopped avocado
- ½ red chilli, chopped *optional
- 1 tablespoon chopped red capsicum
- 1 tablespoon chopped red onion
- ½ cucumber, roughly chopped
- 1 handful salad greens
Dressing:
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
- ½ teaspoon mirin
- ½ teaspoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon lime juice
- ½ teaspoon wasabi paste
Method
- Heat a heavy-based frying pan over medium-high heat
- Mix the sesame oil and extra virgin olive oil together and rub onto each side of the tuna steak
- Place the tuna into the heated frying pan, and sear for 1½ minutes then turn over
- Sprinkle the top of the steak with the sesame seeds
- Cook a further 1-2 minutes, until cooked to your liking
Salad:
- Place all the salad ingredients into a bowl
- Mix the dressing together by combining the wasabi paste into the liquids
- Pour the dressing over the salad and toss to combine
- Place the tuna steak onto a serving plate and add the salad.
